Is the Rider 2.0 snowsuit actually waterproof?

Yes. Helly Hansen lists a waterproof, breathable shell with fully sealed seams and a PFC-free DWR treatment, which is what you want for wet snow and slush.

What insulation does it use?

It uses recycled PrimaLoft polyester insulation. That is a synthetic fill that keeps some warmth when damp, unlike down.

What sizes does it come in?

The listed size is numeric 2. Check the store listing for the full size run before ordering, since only one new listing was found.

Does it have a powder skirt and hood?

Yes. It has an attached hood and a powder skirt, plus reflective details and a zip with hook-and-loop closure.

Is $180 a good price?

Only one store prices it new at $180 as of November 7, 2026, so there is no recent range to judge against. Compare with other kids' insulated snowsuits before deciding.

Is it good for skiing or just snow play?

It is built for both. The waterproof shell, powder skirt and insulation suit ski days, and the same features work for sledding and snow play.
