Questions and answers

Is the Helokeep M2601 worth it?
It is a budget Class 2 e-MTB with a 500 W motor and a 330 lb load rating, which is strong for the price class. The trade-offs are a heavy steel frame, slow charging and no NRTL listing. Compare it with similarly priced 26-inch e-bikes before buying.
How far can I really ride on one charge?
The rated 35 miles assumes low pedal-assist and flat ground. Expect closer to 15 to 25 miles with heavy throttle use, hills or a loaded rider. The 7.8 Ah battery is small, so plan charging stops on longer rides.
Will it fit me?
Helokeep lists a rider height range of 5'5" to 6'5". Shorter riders may find the 26-inch frame and 42-inch frame size tall, so check standover height before ordering.
Is it legal to ride without a license?
It is Class 2, meaning throttle assist up to 20 mph. That class is street-legal in most US states without a license, but local rules vary, so check your state and trail regulations.
What comes in the box and how much assembly is needed?
The bike ships partly assembled. Expect to fit the front wheel, handlebars, pedals and seat, and to check brake alignment. A basic tool kit and pump help; a shop assembly is worth it if you are not handy.
When is the price lowest?
E-bike prices typically dip during spring sales, Black Friday and end-of-season clearance. Set a price alert and compare across stores rather than buying at the first listing you see.
