Questions and answers

Is this set worth it compared with a forged knife set?
If you want many knives, shears and a self-sharpening block at a moderate price, yes. Forged sets cost more and hold an edge longer, but need separate sharpening.
How does the self-sharpening block work?
Slots in the block contain ceramic or carbide sharpeners that hone the blade each time you pull a knife out or push it in. Serrated knives and shears don't use those slots.
Are the knives dishwasher safe?
Henckels lists the set as dishwasher safe. Hand washing keeps edges and handles in better shape over time.
What's included in the 14 pieces?
The set includes chef's, santoku, bread, paring and utility knives, steak knives, kitchen shears and the self-sharpening block. Check the listing for the exact piece list.
When is the best time to buy?
Knife block sets usually drop around Black Friday, holiday sales and wedding-season promotions. The current best new price is $219.95 at Belk as of November 5, 2026.
