Our take on the HexClad Mega Cutlery Bundle

The HexClad Mega Cutlery Bundle is a 17-piece knife set built around 67-layer Japanese Damascus steel blades at 60 Rockwell hardness, finished with a 12-degree Honbazuke edge. It covers daily cooking knives — chef's, santoku, bread, utility, paring and boning — plus an 8-piece steak knife set, a magnetic walnut block, a honing rod and a cutting board. The green pakkawood handles and magnetic block are the styling and storage draw. At $899 at HexClad as of November 5, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent low to compare against.

Pros
  • 67-layer Damascus blades with 60 HRC hardness hold an edge well
  • 12-degree edge is sharper than the typical 15–20 degree kitchen knife
  • 17 pieces cover daily prep plus eight steak knives
  • Magnetic walnut block stores knives safely and protects edges
  • Includes honing rod and cutting board, so little else is needed
Cons
  • $899 is a large outlay for a single set
  • Hard, thin 12-degree edges chip if used on bones or frozen food

  • Steak knives add cost even for cooks who rarely serve steak
  • Only one new price listed, so there is no discount to compare
