Our take on the Hiland 26 inch Mountain Bike

The Hiland 26-inch mountain bike is a budget hardtail with an aluminum frame, front suspension, 21-speed Shimano drivetrain and mechanical disc brakes. The 17-inch frame and 26-inch wheels suit riders roughly 5'5" to 5'10". At $109.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent price range, which is where this bike usually makes sense.

Best forFirst-time mountain bikers on a tight budgetTeens and shorter adults around 5'5" to 5'10"Commuting and light trail ridingBuyers who want disc brakes without spending much
Pros
  • Aluminum frame keeps weight reasonable for the price
  • Mechanical disc brakes stop better in wet conditions than rim brakes
  • 21-speed Shimano drivetrain covers hills and flat roads
  • Front suspension softens roots and gravel
  • Low entry price at $109.99
Cons
  • 26-inch wheels are dated; 27.5 and 29 inch roll over obstacles better
  • Entry-level suspension fork and components wear faster under hard trail use
  • Ships partly disassembled and needs tuning
  • Heavier than pricier hardtails

Questions and answers

Is the Hiland 26-inch mountain bike worth it?
At $109.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it is a reasonable buy for light trails and commuting. Serious riders should spend more on better suspension and 27.5 or 29-inch wheels.
What rider height fits the 17-inch frame?
The 17-inch frame with 26-inch wheels generally fits riders about 5'5" to 5'10". Check your inseam against the standover height before buying.
Does it come assembled?
No. It ships partly assembled and needs the front wheel, handlebars, pedals and seat fitted, plus brake and derailleur checks. A shop tune-up is worth the cost if you are not handy.
Are the brakes hydraulic?
No, they are mechanical disc brakes with cable actuation. They are easier to adjust at home but need more hand force than hydraulic brakes.
How does it compare with a 27.5-inch bike?
26-inch wheels accelerate a bit quicker and suit shorter riders, but 27.5-inch wheels roll over rocks and roots more easily. For rough trails, a 27.5-inch hardtail is the better choice.
When is it cheapest?
Budget bikes like this tend to dip during end-of-season sales and holiday promotions. The current $109.99 at eBay is already near the bottom of its range.
Where is the Hiland 26 inch Mountain Bike cheapest?
At Walmart, for $229.99, as of our latest check.

Where can I buy the Hiland 26 inch Mountain Bike?
