Is $296.96 a good price for this projector?

That is the best new price found, $296.96 at Amazon as of November 7, 2026, and only 2 stores list it new. With so few sellers, compare both before buying; there is little recent range to judge against.

Do I need a special screen?

For the best picture, yes. Ultra short throw projectors are usually paired with an ALR or CLR screen that rejects ambient light; a plain white wall works but washes out in daylight.

How far from the wall does it sit?

It is an ultra short throw model, so it sits just inches below the wall to fill 80 to 200 inches. Exact placement depends on the screen size you choose.

Expect the projector, a power cable and a remote. A screen and any streaming stick are not included; the VIDAA U9 interface is built in.

Can I use it for gaming?

Yes. Two HDMI 2.1 ports support 4K high-frame-rate input from current consoles, though projector input lag is higher than a gaming monitor.

How does it compare with a 55-inch TV?

It throws a far larger image, from 80 inches up, but a TV gives deeper blacks and works in bright rooms. Choose the projector for size and the TV for contrast.

Our take on the Hisense 55-Inch Cinema Series TV

The Hisense Cinema Series is an ultra short throw projector that throws an 80- to 200-inch 4K image from a few inches below the wall, using an RGB laser light source and a DLP chip. It stands out for its 100W Devialet-tuned built-in sound and wide 145% NTSC color gamut, so it can work without a separate soundbar. Its best new price is $296.96 at Amazon as of November 7, 2026, with only 2 stores pricing it new.
