Pros
  • Ultra short throw design needs only inches of clearance
  • Triple laser light source gives wide color and long life
  • Native 4K resolution from a DLP chip
  • Google TV built in, with Google Assistant and Alexa support
  • 2,500 lumens is bright enough for a dim room
Cons
  • 3,000:1 contrast ratio is modest; blacks look gray in a dark room
  • Needs a flat, light-controlled wall or an ALR screen to look its best
  • DLP projectors can show rainbow artifacts for some viewers
  • Built-in audio is not a substitute for a soundbar

Questions and answers

Is the Hisense PT1 worth it at $1,997.99?
At $1,997.99 at B&H Photo-Video-Audio as of November 5, 2026, it is a reasonable price for a triple-laser 4K ultra short throw projector. It makes the most sense if you can control light and use a proper screen.
How far from the wall does it need to sit?
As an ultra short throw projector, it sits just inches from the wall to fill a large screen. Check Hisense's throw distance chart for the exact image size you want.
Does it need a special screen?
It works on a plain wall, but an ambient-light-rejecting screen improves contrast and brightness in a lit room. A flat wall matters, since the short throw angle shows wall imperfections.
What is in the box?
Expect the projector, a power cable and a remote. Check the listing for the exact bundle, since some stores add extras.
Does it support streaming apps and voice control?
Yes. Google TV is built in, and it works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
When is it cheapest?
