Our take on the Hoka Streamlined Sneakers

The Hoka Bondi 9 is a max-cushion road running and walking shoe built on a thick, soft EVA foam midsole with a rocker-shaped sole that rolls the foot forward. It is the brand's most cushioned everyday trainer, aimed at long miles and standing all day rather than speed. The best new price is $146.05 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, which sits below the $165 list price and near the low end of what it has sold for recently.

Best forRunners logging easy miles and long runsPeople who stand or walk on hard floors all dayHeavier runners wanting maximum cushioningAnyone with joint or foot soreness who wants a soft ride
Pros
  • Very plush, high-stack foam that absorbs impact
  • Rocker sole keeps the stride rolling forward
  • Breathable engineered mesh upper
  • Wide toe box and roomy fit for most feet
  • Holds up well over hundreds of miles
Cons
  • Heavy and bulky compared with lighter trainers
  • Soft foam gives little ground feel or push-back
  • Tall stack can feel unstable on uneven ground
  • Price rarely drops far below list

What reviewers say

Owners rate the Bondi line highly for comfort over long days and long runs, and the 9 keeps that reputation. Most criticism centers on weight and the mushy, low-energy ride rather than durability.

Pros
  • Cushioning that stays comfortable for hours
  • Reliable fit and sizing
  • Durable outsole and upper
Cons
  • Heavy for a running shoe
  • Too soft for faster paces
  • Bulkier look than other trainers

Questions and answers

Is the Bondi 9 worth it at $146.05?
At $146.05 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it is a fair price for a max-cushion trainer that lasts several hundred miles. If you want a soft daily shoe and do not need speed, it is a reasonable buy.
How does the Bondi 9 differ from the Bondi 8?
The 9 uses a lighter, more resilient foam and a refined rocker shape, so it feels slightly less mushy than the 8. The stack height and overall fit are close to the previous model.
Does the Bondi 9 run true to size?
Most buyers take their normal running shoe size. The fit is roomy in the toe box, so people with narrow feet sometimes size down half a size.
Is it good for walking and standing all day?
Yes. The thick foam and rocker sole make it a popular choice for nurses, teachers and anyone on their feet for long shifts.
When is the Bondi 9 cheapest?
Prices tend to fall when a new Bondi generation launches or during seasonal sales. The current $146.05 at Walmart is already below list, so waiting may not save much.
Where is the Hoka Streamlined Sneakers cheapest?
At Amazon, for $249.97, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Hoka Streamlined Sneakers?
Rated 4.5 out of 5 from 63 ratings.
Where can I buy the Hoka Streamlined Sneakers?
3 stores we checked sell it, including Amazon, Walmart, eBay.
