Our take on the Hoka Women's Transport GTX

The Hoka Transport GTX is a waterproof women's running and walking shoe built for road and light trail use, with a Gore-Tex upper and a reinforced toe. It sits in Hoka's commuter-leaning Transport line rather than the cushioned Bondi or Clifton family, so expect a firmer, more grounded ride. At $94.83 at REI as of November 5, 2026, it is well below the typical full retail for a GTX Hoka, making this a strong price point if your size is in stock.

Questions and answers

Is the Hoka Transport GTX actually waterproof?
Yes. The GTX in the name means a Gore-Tex waterproof membrane, and owners report dry feet in rain. It is water-resistant rather than a fully sealed boot, so deep puddles can still get in over the collar.
How does it compare with the standard Hoka Transport?
The GTX version adds the waterproof membrane and a reinforced toe. The trade-off is less breathability and a slightly heavier, warmer feel than the non-GTX Transport.
Does it run true to size?
It generally runs true to length, but several buyers find it narrow. If you have wide feet or wear thick socks, consider a half size up.
Is this a good shoe for trail running?
It handles packed dirt and gravel paths, but the outsole and cushioning are tuned for road and everyday use. For technical trails, a dedicated trail shoe is a better choice.
When is the best time to buy it?
Waterproof shoes usually drop when a new season's colorways arrive and around major sales events. At $94.83 at REI as of November 5, 2026, it is already well below typical full price.
Where is the Hoka Women's Transport GTX cheapest?
