Our take on the HOMLUX 54" Outdoor Propane Fire Pit Table

The HOMLUX 54-inch is a rectangular propane fire pit table with a contemporary look, sized to anchor a patio seating group. It runs on a standard propane tank, so there is no wood, ash or chimney to deal with, and the wide 54-inch top doubles as a coffee table when the flame is off. It is a large piece, so measure your space and plan where the tank will sit before buying.

Questions and answers

Is a propane fire pit table worth it over a wood-burning one?
For most patios, yes. Propane lights instantly, gives adjustable heat and leaves no ash or smoke, which matters on decks and near seating. Wood costs less per burn but needs storage, cleanup and more clearance.
How much space do I need for a 54-inch fire pit table?
Plan for the 54-inch table plus at least a couple of feet of clearance on all sides for chairs and safe movement. Leave extra room behind the seating and check that the propane tank location is reachable.
What size propane tank does it use?
Fire pit tables of this type typically run on a standard 20-pound propane tank, the same one used for a grill. Confirm the tank fits the base or storage area before you buy.
Does it come with a cover or lava rocks?
Included accessories vary by listing, so check the box contents before ordering. A fitted cover and a bag of fire media are common add-ons if they are not included.
Can I use it on a covered porch?
Only with good ventilation. Propane fire pits produce carbon monoxide, so never run one in an enclosed space, and keep it clear of overhead structures and flammable items.
When is the best time to buy a fire pit table?
Prices on outdoor heating usually drop at the end of summer and into fall clearance. Compare the current price against its recent range before buying in spring, when demand peaks.
