Our take on the Hongge 12V Electric Ride-On Truck with Remote Control and LED Lights

The Hongge 12V Electric Ride-On Truck is a battery-powered kids' truck with a parent remote control and LED lights, aimed at roughly the 3-to-6-year-old range. The 12V system puts it above the common 6V starter cars, so it moves at a usable pace on pavement and short grass. No current price was supplied for this page, so check the live comparison for where it sits against its recent range.

Questions and answers

Is a 12V ride-on too fast for a 3-year-old?
It can be. Use the remote and the low speed setting until the child steers and stops reliably, usually around age 4 or 5.
How long does the battery last per charge?
Expect roughly 45 to 90 minutes of mixed driving. Grass and hills cut that noticeably.
Does the remote control steer and stop the truck?
Yes. The parent remote overrides the child's controls for steering, forward and reverse, and stop.
What age and weight is it for?
Most 12V trucks of this type suit ages 3 to 6 and riders up to about 66 lb. Check the seat and harness before buying.
What comes in the box?
Typically the truck parts, seat, 12V battery, charger, remote and instructions. Confirm the charger is included before ordering.
When is it cheapest?
Ride-on prices drop around Black Friday and in late-spring clearance. Watch the price history rather than buying on impulse.
