Our take on the Hooseng Folding Dining Table Set for 4 with Leather Chairs

The Hooseng Folding Dining Table Set for 4 pairs a rectangular wood-look MDF table with four leather-seat chairs. The table folds, which suits small apartments, rental kitchens and rooms that need the floor back between meals. The tabletop measures about 52 by 31.5 inches and stands 29.5 inches high, a standard dining height for four. The MDF build and waterproof, rustproof finish point to a budget set rather than solid-wood furniture.

Pros
  • Folds for storage when not in use
  • Seats four at a standard 29.5-inch dining height
  • Waterproof, rustproof finish is easy to wipe down
  • Leather-look seats are simple to clean
  • Five-piece set covers table and all chairs in one buy
Cons
  • MDF frame and top are not solid wood and wear faster at joints
  • Assembly required
  • Folding hardware is the weak point on budget sets
  • Leather is likely a synthetic upholstery, not full-grain hide
  • Chairs are not specified as folding, so they take floor space when the table is stored

Questions and answers

Is this table sturdy enough for daily family meals?
MDF with a folding mechanism handles light daily use, but expect some wobble over years. Tighten the folding hardware periodically and avoid standing or leaning heavy weight on the tabletop.
How small does it pack down when folded?
The table folds in half along its length, roughly halving the 52-inch span. Exact folded depth is not published, so measure your storage spot against the 31.5-inch width before buying.
Are the chairs folding too?
The listing describes four leather-seat chairs but does not call them folding. Assume they are fixed-frame and plan storage space for them separately.
Is the leather real?
At this price point the seats are almost certainly synthetic leather over foam. It wipes clean easily but can crack at the edges after a few years of heavy use.
What do I need to assemble it?
Assembly is required for the table and chairs. Budget about an hour and have a screwdriver and the included hardware ready; check all bolts again after the first week.
When is the price lowest?
Furniture like this tends to dip during back-to-school and Black Friday sales. Compare the current price against its price history on this page before buying.
