Questions and answers
- Is the HP 14-dq0004dx good for students?
- It works for basic school tasks like writing papers and browsing, but the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage may struggle with heavy multitasking or large files. Students who need to run specialized software should look for a model with more memory and storage.
- Can I upgrade the RAM or storage?
- The RAM is likely soldered and not user-upgradeable, and the 64GB eMMC storage is not a standard replaceable drive. Plan on using cloud storage or an external drive for extra space.
- What is Windows 10 S Mode and can I switch out of it?
- S Mode restricts you to apps from the Microsoft Store for security and performance. You can switch to regular Windows 10 for free, but it is a one-way change and may slow the laptop down.
- How long does the battery last?
- Battery life varies with use, but the efficient Celeron processor and small screen help it last through a typical day of light tasks. HP Fast Charge gets you to 50% in about 45 minutes.
- Does it have a backlit keyboard?
- No, this model does not have a backlit keyboard.
- What ports does it have?
- It includes USB ports, an HDMI port, and a headphone/microphone jack, but no USB-C. Check the full specs for the exact layout.
