Is the HP 17.3-inch laptop good for gaming?

Only for light or older games. It uses AMD Radeon integrated graphics, not a dedicated GPU, so modern titles will run at low settings.

Can I upgrade the RAM and storage?

Yes. It has two memory slots and the 1TB SSD can be swapped, though the included 32GB already covers most users.

Is 32GB of RAM overkill?

For web browsing and office work, yes. It helps with many browser tabs, large spreadsheets and virtual machines.

How does the Ryzen 7 7730U compare with newer chips?

It is a solid 8-core chip for everyday work but uses older DDR4 memory and integrated graphics, so it trails newer Ryzen and Intel H-series laptops in heavy tasks.

What comes in the box?

The laptop, its power adapter and a laptop cooler. A mouse and sleeve are not included.

When is the best time to buy it?

The only new price listed is $899 at Best Buy as of November 7, 2026. Back-to-school and Black Friday periods are when 17-inch laptops usually see the deepest cuts.
