Is the LG gram 17 (2024) worth it?

If you want a 17-inch screen you can carry every day, it is one of the few options near 3 lb. If you need a rigid chassis or dedicated graphics, look elsewhere.

How does it compare with the previous gram 17?

The 2024 model moves to an Intel Core Ultra processor and keeps the 2560 x 1600 screen and light body. Gains are mainly in efficiency and integrated graphics, not a redesign.

How is the battery life?

Owners report a full day of light browsing and documents, but heavy multitasking shortens it well below LG's claims.

Can I upgrade the RAM or storage?

The 512 GB SSD can be replaced, but the 16 GB of RAM is soldered and cannot be upgraded. Buy the memory you need up front.

The laptop and its power adapter. It does not include a stylus or a sleeve.

Our take on the LG gram 17 (2024)

The LG gram 17 (2024) is a 17-inch laptop built around a 2560 x 1600 display, an Intel Core Ultra processor, 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD, all in a body that weighs about 3 lb. That weight is the headline: most 17-inch laptops run several pounds heavier, and the gram trades some chassis stiffness for portability. It also includes facial recognition login and runs Windows. The best new price is $1,398.00 at Walmart as of November 7, 2026, with 3 stores listing it new.
