Is the HP Omen 16 Slim good for gaming?

Yes. The RTX 5070 and 240Hz display are built for high-frame-rate gaming at 1600p-class resolution. The Core Ultra 9 285H keeps up with CPU-heavy titles.

Do I need 96GB of RAM?

For gaming, no; 32GB is plenty for most titles. The 96GB configuration makes more sense for video editing, 3D work, or many virtual machines at once.

What is the screen resolution?

Listings for this model show both 2560x1600 and 1920x1200, so confirm the exact panel with the seller before buying. Both are matte and 240Hz in the listed specs.

Is $2,039.99 a good price?

Only one store prices it new at $2,039.99 as of November 7, 2026, so there is no recent range to judge against. Compare the same configuration at other retailers before deciding.

Does it have a numpad and backlit keyboard?

Yes. The keyboard is backlit and includes a numpad, which is uncommon on 16-inch laptops.

What ports does it have?

The listed ports are USB-C and HDMI. Check the full spec sheet for the exact count and versions before relying on it for a multi-monitor setup.

The HP Omen 16 Slim is a 16-inch gaming laptop with an Intel Core Ultra 9 285H, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070, and a 240Hz matte display. This configuration pairs 96GB of DDR5 RAM with a 2TB SSD, which is far more memory than most gamers need but useful for heavy multitasking or content work. The listed best new price is $2,039.99 at Amazon as of November 7, 2026, and only one store prices it new, so there is no meaningful recent price range to compare against.
