Is the HP OmniBook X 17 good for gaming?

It can run modern games at moderate settings thanks to the RTX 4050, but it is not a high-refresh gaming laptop. Expect 1080p play at medium settings rather than high frame rates.

Is a 17.3-inch laptop too big to carry?

It is best treated as a desk machine that moves occasionally. At this screen size the chassis is large and heavy, so daily commuting or backpacking will feel bulky.

Is 16 GB of RAM enough?

Yes for browsing, office work, streaming and most games. Heavy video editing or many open virtual machines would benefit from more, and check whether the memory is soldered before buying.

Is the 1080p screen sharp enough at 17.3 inches?

It is usable, but pixels are visible at this size and text is less crisp than on a higher-resolution panel. The touchscreen is the main draw.

What is a fair price for it?

The only new price listed is $1,265.79 at Newegg as of November 7, 2026. Compare against similar 17-inch laptops with an RTX 4050 before deciding.

Does it come with a warranty?

HP typically covers OmniBook laptops with a one-year limited hardware warranty. Confirm the terms with the seller before ordering.
