Is the Vive Pro 2 worth it in 2025?

It is worth it mainly if you already own SteamVR base stations and controllers and want a sharp tethered display. New buyers often find better value in newer headsets that include tracking and controllers.

Does it come with base stations and controllers?

The headset is typically sold as a headset-only package. You need SteamVR base stations and compatible controllers, such as Vive or Index controllers, to play.

What PC do I need to run it?

You need a gaming PC with a DisplayPort output and a strong GPU; HTC recommends at least a GTX 1060-class card, and 120 Hz at full resolution needs more. A USB port is also required for the link box.

Can I use it with glasses?

Yes, the headset has room for most glasses, and the lens distance can be adjusted. Very large frames may still feel tight.

Is it compatible with SteamVR and Windows 11?

Yes, it works with SteamVR on Windows 10 and Windows 11. It is a PC-only headset and does not run standalone.

Our take on the HTC Vive Pro 2

The HTC Vive Pro 2 is a PC-tethered VR headset built for high-end gaming and SteamVR use. It stands out with a 4896 x 2448 combined LCD resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 120-degree field of view, plus 3D positional audio. It needs a DisplayPort connection through the link box and a capable gaming PC, and it works with SteamVR base stations and controllers rather than inside-out tracking. It is a premium, aging headset, so check current pricing against newer alternatives before buying.
