Does the PSVR2 work without a PS5?

No. It is a tethered headset that requires a PS5 and connects with a single USB-C cable. It does not run standalone.

Can I use it with a PC?

Sony sells a separate PC adapter that adds PC VR support, but the headset does not work with a PC out of the box.

The headset, two Sense controllers, stereo earbuds and the connection cable. No charging dock or stand is included.

Is $383 a good price?

It is well below the $550 launch price and among the lower prices seen for a new unit. At $383 at GCS Computers Pro as of November 8, 2026, it is a strong buy if you already own a PS5.

Do I need a TV or camera?

No external camera is needed; tracking is inside-out. A TV is only needed for the initial setup and for other people to watch.

Is it worth it over the original PSVR?
