Is the Husky 815-piece set worth it?

For a home or shop mechanic who needs deep and specialty sockets across three drive sizes, it covers a lot in one purchase. If you already own most sizes, the overlap is hard to justify.

Does it come with a case?

No. The set ships without a carrier, so budget for a toolbox, cart or socket rails. Socket rails are included among the 202 other tools.

What is the difference between 815 and 923 pieces?

The name says 815 pieces while the spec sheet lists 923. The description breaks down 815 pieces by category, so treat 815 as the count to verify against the box.

How much does it weigh?

Ship weight is listed at 256 lbs, so plan for a fixed location or a heavy-duty cart rather than carrying it between jobs.

Is the price likely to drop?

The lowest and highest recent daily price are both $1,299.00 as of October 31, 2026, so it has not moved. There is no recent lower price to wait for.

Are the sockets 6-point or 12-point?

The set includes both 6-point and 12-point sockets in standard and deep lengths, plus 12-point box-end wrenches.

Our take on the Husky 815-piece Master Mechanics Tool Set

The Husky 815-piece Master Mechanics Tool Set is a large, mostly socket-and-wrench kit covering 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" drives, with 177 standard sockets, 141 deep sockets, 117 specialty sockets, 145 wrenches and 202 other tools. Its ratchets need only a 5° swing, and sockets use off-corner loading to reduce fastener rounding. Everything is polished chrome. It ships without a carrier, and at 256 lbs ship weight it is a shop fixture, not a portable box. Its price has been flat at $1,299.00 since October 31, 2026, so there is no cheaper recent point to wait for.
