Is the BÅRSLÖV good for sleeping every night?

It is meant for occasional guests. The fold-out surface is firmer and thinner than a standard mattress, so nightly sleepers usually add a topper.

What are the dimensions when it is folded out?

IKEA lists the bed size on the product page; check it against your room before buying, since a folded-out sofa-bed needs clear floor space in front of it.

Can the cover be washed?

Yes. The Tibbleby fabric cover is removable and can be machine washed following IKEA's care label.

Does it need assembly?

Yes, it ships flat-packed. Expect a few hours of work, and have a second person help with the frame.

Is $1,199 a good price?

Only one store, ModeSens, lists it new at $1,199 as of November 6, 2026, so there is no recent range to judge against. Compare with IKEA's own listing before buying.
