Is the Insta360 X3 worth it over the X2?

Yes for most buyers. The X3 adds a larger touchscreen, bigger sensors, 5.7K 360 video and 4K single-lens mode, which the X2 lacks.

How is the battery life?

Expect roughly 80 minutes of 5.7K 360 recording on a charge. Carry a spare battery for full days of shooting.

Does it need a waterproof case?

No. The camera is waterproof to 33 ft (10 m) on its own, so rain and snorkeling are fine without a housing.

What comes in the box?

The standard kit includes the camera, a battery, a USB-C cable and a protective pouch. Bundles add extras such as a selfie stick or lens caps.

Can it shoot normal flat video?

Yes. Single-lens mode records up to 4K, so you can use it like a regular action camera and switch to 360 when you want.

When is the X3 cheapest?

Prices dip around major sales and when a successor launches. The current best new price is $298.66 at eBay as of November 4, 2026.
