Is the Insta360 X5 worth it over the X4?

The X5 adds 8K30 video, larger 1/1.28-inch sensors and a triple AI chip for better low light, plus a replaceable lens. If you shoot mostly in daylight, the older X4 covers most needs for less.

Is the X5 waterproof without a case?

Yes. It is rated waterproof to 49ft (15m) without a housing, so it can be used in rain, pools and shallow dives.

What microSD card does the X5 need?

Use a UHS-I V30 card or faster. 8K footage at up to 180Mbps fills cards quickly, so pick a large capacity.

How long does the battery last?

The 2400mAh battery is rated around 3 hours, though 8K recording and cold weather will shorten that.

What is in the Explorer Bundle?

The Explorer Bundle includes the X5 camera plus extra accessories beyond the standard bundle, which ships with the camera and one battery.

The best new price seen is $529.99 at insta360.com as of November 6, 2026. Check the price history before buying, since 360 cameras often drop during sales events.
