Is the IRIS USA 45 Qt bin worth it?

For light-to-medium closet and garage storage, yes. It is clear, stackable and has an attached lid at a low price. Skip it if you need a watertight or heavy-duty bin.

How much weight can it hold?

The bin is rated for 25 lb. Keep heavy tools and liquids in sturdier containers, since the plastic can crack when overloaded.

Can I stack these bins?

Yes. The lid is designed to stack with bins of the same footprint. Stack no more than a few high and keep the heaviest bin at the bottom.

Does the lid come off completely?

The lid is hinged and stays attached to the bin. It opens partway rather than lifting off, which keeps the lid from getting lost.

No. It is moisture resistant, not sealed. Do not use it outdoors or in damp basements for items that must stay dry.

What fits in a 45-quart bin?

About 45 quarts, roughly a season of folded clothes, shoes, blankets or small household items. The interior is about 21.6 by 15.7 inches, so check long items against that.

Our take on the IRIS USA 45 Qt Storage

The IRIS USA 45 Qt Storage Bin is a clear plastic tote with a hinged, buckle-down lid, sized at about 21.6 by 15.7 by 10.7 inches. It holds up to 45 quarts and 25 pounds, stacks with matching bins, and needs no assembly. The clear body lets you see contents without opening it, and the hinged lid means no separate lid to lose. It suits closets, garages and under-bed storage of clothes and household items.
