Questions and answers

Is Iron Out worth it?
Yes if you deal with iron or rust stains from well water or old pipes. It handles jobs ordinary detergent cannot. At $47.09 for 16 oz at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, though, compare against the usual retail price before buying.
How do I use it on laundry?
Add it to the wash water with detergent, following the bottle's dilution directions, and use the hottest water the fabric allows. Check a hidden seam first on colored items.
Can I use it on toilets and sinks?
Yes. It is made for hard surfaces like toilets, tubs and sinks. Apply, let it sit briefly, then scrub and rinse well.
Will it damage my clothes?
It can bleach or spot some fabrics, especially colors and wool or silk. Test first and do not leave it on fabric longer than directed.
What is in the 16 oz bottle?
One bottle of liquid rust stain remover. It is a concentrate-style liquid meant to be diluted or added to water, not a ready-to-spray cleaner.
When is the price lowest?
Rust removers like this tend to dip during spring cleaning sales and back-to-school promotions. Check the price history before paying $47.09 for a single bottle.
