Is the iScooter 500W worth it for commuting?

For trips under about 8 to 10 miles on smooth pavement, yes. It is cheap, folds small and hits 20 mph. For long or rough commutes, a scooter with larger wheels and a bigger battery is worth the extra money.

How far can it really go on a charge?

The rated range is 20 miles, but plan on roughly 10 to 14 miles in real use. Cold weather, hills, rider weight and full-speed riding all cut range.

How long does it take to charge?

About 5 hours with the included charger. There is no fast-charge option, so charge overnight or at your desk.

Yes. The max load is 264 lb and the minimum recommended age is 14. Heavier riders should expect lower speed on hills and shorter range.

Does it fold small enough for a car trunk or bus?

It folds to roughly 44 x 6.5 x 19.7 inches. That fits most car trunks and works on transit, but at around 30 lb or more it is a two-hand carry.

No water-resistance rating is published. Avoid riding in rain and do not leave it out in wet weather.

Our take on the iScooter Folding Electric Scooter 500W

The iScooter 500W is a folding commuter scooter with a 500W motor, a top speed of 20 mph and a rated range of about 20 miles. It rides on 8.5-inch road tires, carries up to 264 lb, and folds for carrying on transit or into a trunk. It is an entry-level commuter rather than a performance machine, so expect real-world range below the 20-mile claim, especially at full speed or on hills.
