Does the three-way switch work with any bulb?

No. A three-way switch only gives three brightness levels with a three-way bulb. A standard bulb will just switch on and off.

What bulb does it take?

The listing does not state the socket type or wattage. Check the product details for the base type and maximum wattage before buying a three-way bulb.

Is it good for reading?

It can be, since the three-way switch lets you raise brightness for reading. Light quality depends on the bulb you fit and how close the lamp sits to your chair.

Where does it fit in a room?

Floor lamps like this usually go beside a sofa, armchair or bed. The slim metal base fits tight corners better than a table lamp on a side table.

When is the best time to buy it?

Floor lamps often drop during seasonal sales and holiday promotions. Check the price history on this page to see whether the current price is near its low.
