Our take on the Ivy Bronx Upholstered Platform Bed Frame with Wingback Headboard, Charging Station, LED Lights and 2 Storage Drawers

A king-size upholstered platform bed with a wingback headboard, built-in LED lights and a charging station, plus two under-bed storage drawers. The wood frame and slats support up to 900 lb, and the velvet upholstery gives it a soft, hotel-style look. It is a frame-only buy: you supply the mattress. Shoppers comparing prices should check the current best offer against the recent range before committing, since upholstered beds like this swing widely between sales.

Questions and answers

Is this bed worth it compared with a plain platform frame?
If you want storage and a lit, charging headboard in one purchase, it replaces a frame, a nightstand and a lamp. A plain frame costs less but adds none of those.
Do I need a box spring?
No. The wood frame includes slats, so a king mattress sits directly on them. A box spring would only raise the bed height.
Will the drawers fit in my room?
The frame is 84.45 in long, and each drawer needs open floor beside the bed to pull out. Measure the gap to the wall or nightstand before buying.
What mattress size fits?
A standard king mattress. The listing is frame only, so the mattress is sold separately.
How does the charging station work?
It is built into the headboard and needs a nearby outlet. You plug the bed in, then charge phones or tablets from the headboard ports.
When is it cheapest?
Upholstered beds usually drop during holiday and clearance sales. Check the price history on this page and buy when the current price sits near the low end of its range.
