Our take on the JACKSON JS Series Monarkh JS22 SC Electric Guitar with Double Humbucker Red Stain

The Jackson JS Series Monarkh JS22 SC is a budget single-cut electric built for rock and metal, with a 24.75-inch scale, a mahogany body and neck, and two high-output humbuckers. It pairs a satin finish and black hardware with a TOM-style bridge and anchored tailpiece for stable tuning and palm-muting comfort. The slim 1.625-inch nut and 12- to 16-inch compound-radius amaranth fingerboard make fast riffing and bending easy. At $349.99 at Adorama as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent range, so it is worth watching for a dip.

Questions and answers

Is the Jackson JS22 SC worth it for a beginner?
Yes, if you want a metal-friendly guitar at a low price. The slim neck and humbuckers suit rock, but budget for a setup and possibly a pickup upgrade later.
How does it compare to the Jackson Dinky JS22?
The Monarkh has a single-cut mahogany body and a 24.75-inch scale, while the Dinky is a double-cut with a 25.5-inch scale. The Monarkh feels warmer and slinkier; the Dinky is brighter and longer.
What is the scale length and nut width?
It has a 24.75-inch scale length and a 1.625-inch (41.3 mm) nut width. That combination gives a comfortable, Gibson-like feel.
Does it come with a case?
No, the JS22 SC is sold as a guitar only. A gig bag or hard case is a separate purchase.
Is $349.99 a good price?
It is the best new price found at Adorama as of November 4, 2026, but it is at the high end of its recent range. Waiting for a sale could save you money.
