Our take on the Jameson Guitars Full Size Thinline Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Gig Bag and Picks

The Jameson Thinline is a full-size, 6-string acoustic-electric with a slim black body, a gig bag and picks in the box. The thinline depth makes it easier to hold and less boomy than a full dreadnought, and the built-in pickup lets you plug into an amp or PA. At $118.99 at Best Buy as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, so this is a good moment to buy.

Best forBeginners who want one guitar for practice and open micsPlayers who plug into an amp or PASmaller players and anyone who finds deep bodies bulkyBuyers who want a bag and picks included
Pros
  • Full-size scale with a slim thinline body that is comfortable to hold
  • Acoustic-electric pickup for amps, PA systems and recording
  • Gig bag and picks included, so it is playable out of the box
  • Black finish that hides scuffs
  • Low price for a full-size electric-acoustic
Cons
  • Factory setup and string action may need adjusting
  • Acoustic volume is quieter than a full-depth dreadnought
  • Pickup and onboard electronics are basic, not stage-grade
  • 4.5 kg is not light for a thinline

Questions and answers

Is this a good first guitar?
Yes. It is full size but slim, comes with a bag and picks, and costs little. Budget for a setup if the action feels high.
Can I plug it into an amp?
Yes. It is acoustic-electric, so it has an onboard pickup with an output jack for an amp, PA or interface.
How does it compare with a full-depth dreadnought?
It is thinner and more comfortable to hold, but it is quieter unplugged and has less low end. Plugged in, the difference matters less.
What comes in the box?
The guitar, a gig bag and picks. A strap and cable are not listed, so plan to buy them separately.
Is $118.99 a good price?
It is the best new price across 6 stores as of November 7, 2026, and sits at the low end of its recent range. That makes it a fair buy now.
Does it come strung and ready to play?
It ships with 6 strings installed. Expect to tune it and possibly adjust the action before it feels right.
