At $14.99 it is a low-risk buy for a young child who wants a simple handheld. Expect basic play and budget build, not a Nintendo-style experience.

What batteries does it need?

It takes three AA alkaline batteries, and they are not included. Budget for a pack of AAs on top of the $14.99 price.
