About the JP Dansk Fuel Tank for Late Porsche 914, 1974–1976
For the late Porsche 914, built from 1974–1976 with the 1.8 and 2.0 liter engines, JP-1637-0 is the 62-liter replacement fuel tank, made by JP Group (JP Dansk) and supplied through EMPI. It carries JP Group reference 1615600600 and replaces Porsche part 914 201 010 12, the late tank. EMPI sells it specifically as the late 914 tank, separate from the tank used on earlier cars. On a 914 that sat with fuel in it, the old tank is often varnished inside or rusted at the seams.
Holding 62 liters, about 16.4 US gallons, it keeps the same capacity as the factory tank. Because early and late 914 tanks are different parts, check the year and the part number on the old tank before ordering, especially on a car with a swapped tank or a mixed history. Plan the related parts at the same time. The fuel level sender and its seal, the filler and vent hoses, the outlet hose, and the tank pads are all easy to replace while the tank is out and harder to reach later. A fuel-injected 914 also benefits from a new fuel filter once the new tank is in.
