Does the bundle include the skink?

No. It is the habitat only: enclosure, substrate, basking halogen, dome reflector and UVB kit. You buy the juvenile monkey tailed skink separately.

Is the 48 x 24 x 36-inch enclosure big enough?

Yes for a juvenile. Adults reach 22 to 36 inches, and the listing's minimum is 55 gallons or larger, which this enclosure exceeds in volume and height.

Will the 75 W halogen hit the basking temperature?

It can reach 95-100°F at the basking spot in a normal room, but a cold room or a tall enclosure may need a higher-wattage bulb. Measure with a thermometer and adjust the dome height.

What else do I need to buy?

A thermostat for the halogen, a hygrometer, a misting bottle or fogger, water and food dishes, and cage decor or hides. The kit covers heat, UVB and substrate only.

Is the UVB kit suitable for this species?

The Arcadia Lumenize Forest 6% is a forest-strength lamp, which fits a shaded, humid setup. Mount it at the distance Arcadia specifies and replace the lamp on schedule.

Our take on the Juvenile Monkey Tailed Skink Bundle

A complete starter habitat for a juvenile monkey tailed skink, sold as one kit by ReptiChip. It pairs a 48 x 24 x 36-inch sliding-door vivarium with coconut chip substrate, a 75 W Arcadia basking halogen, a ceramic dome reflector and a 48-inch Arcadia Lumenize Forest 6% UVB kit. The $768.74 price at ReptiChip as of November 6, 2026 is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare it against. The skink itself is not included.
