Questions and answers

Is the K&H Thermo-Pet Nest worth it?
For a cold-natured cat or a small dog, yes. It costs $54.99 at Chewy.com as of November 5, 2026, and the thermostat means it warms only when the pet is inside, so it is cheap to run.
How warm does the heater get?
The 4-watt heater is thermostatically controlled and stays gently warm, not hot. It is designed to raise the surface a few degrees above room temperature, which suits cats rather than providing strong heat.
Can I wash the bed with the heater in?
No. Remove the heater first, then machine wash the cover. The foam-filled base and fleece cover are made to be washed, but the heater itself should only be wiped.
What size cat does it fit?
It is a small bed, about 15 inches wide, rated for pets up to 35 lb. Most average cats fit; very large cats may be cramped, and the collapsible roof can be pushed down for a flatter spot.
Does it need to be plugged in all the time?
You can leave it plugged in; the thermostat cycles the heater on and off. You can also take the heater out and use the nest as an unheated bed.
When is the price lowest?
Heated pet beds tend to discount in fall and around Black Friday. At $54.99 as of November 5, 2026, it is already near the bottom of its recent range across 7 stores.
Where is the K&H Thermo-Pet Nest Heated Cat Bed cheapest?
At Chewy.com, for $54.99, 42% under what the other stores charge, as of our latest check.
