Our take on the Kelly Clarkson Home King Bed Frame in Walnut

This is a solid wood king bed frame with an integrated wood headboard and slats, sold as frame only, so you add your own mattress and box spring. It stands out for a 1,000 lb weight capacity, which is high for a wood frame, and a walnut finish that reads warmer and more traditional than most platform beds. It has 738 ratings averaging 4.5 out of 5, a strong record for furniture in this class. No current price was provided, so check the price history before buying.

Questions and answers

Is this bed frame worth it?
At 4.5 out of 5 from 738 ratings, it is a well-reviewed solid wood king frame with a 1,000 lb capacity. It makes sense if you want a wood headboard included and already have a box spring. Compare its price against other solid wood king frames before deciding.
Do I need a box spring with this frame?
It includes slats, so a box spring is optional. Many owners use one for extra height and mattress support; a slatted base alone works with most mattresses.
What is included in the box?
The frame, headboard, slats and hardware are included. The mattress and box spring are not, since this is frame only.
Will a king mattress fit?
Yes. It is built for a standard king mattress, roughly 76 by 80 inches. Check the mattress depth against the headboard height if you use a thick mattress.
How much weight does it hold?
The listed maximum is 1,000 lb, which covers the mattress and sleepers. That is higher than many wood frames in this price range.
When is the best time to buy it?
Furniture discounts cluster around holiday sales and long weekends. Check the price history to see whether the current price is near its low.
