Our take on the Kenko Real Pro 180° Fisheye Lens for Smartphones

The Kenko Real Pro 180° Fisheye is a clip-on smartphone lens that turns a phone's standard camera into a circular fisheye with a 180-degree field of view. It uses three glass elements in three groups with multilayer coating, an aluminum body and a clip mount, and weighs 30 g. At $18.74 at Kenko Imaging USA as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, so this is a cheap way to try fisheye shooting.

Best forPhone photographers who want a fisheye effect without a second cameraTravel and street shooters who want a pocketable wide effectSkate, music and party photos where distortion is the pointBeginners testing fisheye before buying a dedicated lens
Pros
  • True 180-degree fisheye field of view
  • Multilayer coating and 3-element glass construction
  • Light 30 g aluminum body that clips on and off
  • Works with iPhone, iPad, iMac and many Android phones
  • Low price for a branded fisheye lens
Cons
  • Clip mount can shift or leave the lens off-center on some phones
  • Strong distortion is a look, not a general-purpose wide lens
  • No filter threads and no lens hood
  • Small lens surface is easy to smudge
  • Phone cases may block the clip

Questions and answers

Does this lens work with my phone?
It clips over the phone's rear camera and is listed for iPhone 7 and later-style phones, iPads, iMacs and Android devices from Samsung and others. Thick cases can stop the clip from seating, so remove the case first.
Is the fisheye effect full-frame or circular?
It gives a 180-degree fisheye view, so straight lines bend strongly and the edges curve. Expect a dramatic, distorted look rather than a corrected wide-angle shot.
What is in the box?
The lens comes with a keychain, which doubles as a carry clip. No case or adapter rings are listed.
Is $18.74 a good price?
It is the best new price among the two stores listing it, at Kenko Imaging USA as of November 7, 2026. That is a low entry price for a coated glass fisheye, so it is a reasonable buy if you want the effect.
Can I use it for video?
Yes. It is listed for photo and video, and the clip mount lets you switch between the fisheye and the bare camera quickly.
