Our take on the Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-6000F II Floorstanding Speaker Pair

The RP-6000F II is Klipsch's mid-tier Reference Premiere tower, a 2.5-way bass-reflex design with a 1-inch titanium tweeter in a Tractrix horn and dual 6.5-inch spun-copper woofers. Its 96 dB sensitivity means modest amps drive it to loud levels, and the rear-ported MDF cabinet sits on metal spikes. The pair is $999.98 at B&H Photo-Video-Audio as of November 4, 2026, the only new price listed.

Questions and answers

Is the RP-6000F II worth it at $999.98 a pair?
At $999.98 at B&H Photo-Video-Audio as of November 4, 2026, it is a strong value for a horn-loaded tower pair. Its 96 dB sensitivity lets a budget receiver or tube amp drive it loudly.
Do I need a subwoofer with these towers?
Not for most music. They reach 38 Hz, which covers most bass, but a sub adds depth for action movies and organ or electronic music.
What amplifier power do they need?
They are rated 125 W RMS and 500 W peak but need far less because of the 96 dB sensitivity. A 50 W per channel receiver is plenty in a normal room.
How do they differ from the original RP-6000F?
The II version updates the horn and crossover for smoother treble and keeps the same dual 6.5-inch woofer layout. The cabinet and footprint are essentially unchanged.
Can I bi-amp them?
Yes. Each speaker has two pairs of binding posts, so you can bi-amp with a suitable receiver or use bi-wire cables.
How far from the wall should they sit?
Leave at least a foot behind them. The rear bass-reflex port needs room to breathe, or bass gets boomy.
Where is the Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-6000F II Floorstanding Speaker Pair cheapest?
At B&H Photo-Video-Audio, for $999.98, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-6000F II Floorstanding Speaker Pair?
Rated 4.8 out of 5 from 64 ratings.
