Is the RP-8000F II worth it at $579.99?

Yes, if you want a high-sensitivity tower for movies and rock. At $579.99 at Audio Advice as of November 3, 2026, it is well under its usual street price, so it is a strong buy at that figure.

How does it compare with the original RP-8000F?

The II version keeps the same 1-inch titanium horn tweeter and dual 8-inch woofers but updates the crossover and cabinet bracing. The result is slightly cleaner mids and tighter bass, though the overall character is similar.

What amplifier power does it need?

Klipsch rates it at 150 W RMS and 600 W peak, but 98 dB sensitivity means a 50 to 100 W receiver is plenty for most rooms. A basic AV receiver will drive it to loud levels.

Does it need a subwoofer?

For music, its 35 Hz rating covers most content. For home theater, add a subwoofer to handle the LFE channel and relieve the towers of deep bass.

A pair is sold as two speakers, each with a removable grille and aluminum feet. Speaker cable and amplification are not included.

Klipsch towers see their deepest discounts around Black Friday and end-of-year sales. The $579.99 at Audio Advice as of November 3, 2026 is already near the low end of its recent range.
