Klipsch Forte IV Loudspeaker (each)
The new Forte incorporates an all new K-702 midrange compression driver, featuring a polyimide diaphragm for exceptional detail and dynamics.
Must be purchased in pairs. Review quotes are for the Forte III.
Limited Edition Teak Finish
A small number of Klipsh Forte IV speakers were made with limited edition teak veneer used in the production of the 75th anniversary Klipschorn. They also sport the same lambswool grille cover, completing a mid-century modern retro aesthetic. Only ONE PAIR is available from this limited run!
“ For sheer elation, for joyous jumps and shouts, for exhiliration of hi-fi enjoyed and music revealed, the Forte III is a one-of-a-kind loudspeaker. It gave me serious bliss and musical insight. Somewhere, Paul W. Klipsch is smiling. ”
— KEN MICALLEF, STEREOPHILE, AUGUST 2019
“ The Forte III may be fashionably retro but there’s nothing remotely old-fashioned about the sound. This is a seriously good speaker, repeating the Heresy III’s trick of making everything sound more live but in a far more sophisticated way; the impressive bass is but one part of a fresher arsenal. ... The Forte III is a big and beautiful loudspeaker, both visually and sonically, presenting music in a way that’s utterly enthralling. ”
— PHIL WRIGHT, DARKO AUDIO, MAY 2019
“ ... the Klipsch Forte III is raucous fun, a party-animal speaker if there ever was one. Listen to a pair if you dare. ”
— STEVE GUTTENBERG, C/NET, SEPTEMBER 2017
“ They exude old-school style, combining it with present day passion and quality control, resulting in a speaker that’s easy to live with, and works well with nearly any amplification you can pair them up with. I bought the review pair. You need em too! ”
— TONE AUDIO
First introduced in 1985, the Forte quickly established itself as the most popular Klipsch model. The elegant design and outstanding performance made the Forte a standout among its competitors. In 2017, Klipsch re-introduced the Forte as part of the Heritage speaker series. The Forte III featured updated cosmetics and the latest advancements in acoustic engineering while maintaining the original charisma that made the Forte so popular. The Forte IV builds on that with a new midrange driver, the same one found on the Cornwall IV.
High efficiency and high performance
The Forte IV hosts a three-way design utilizing a 12” woofer and horn-loaded midrange and tweeter. The Forte IV incorporates an all new K-702 midrange compression driver, featuring a polyimide diaphragm for exceptional detail and dynamics. The K-702 midrange is mated to a modified Tractrix® horn — featuring Klipsch's patented Mumps technology for even polar response of mid frequencies, giving more consistent sound throughout the listening area.
The titanium diaphragm high-frequency driver has an all-new wide dispersion phase plug for providing exceptionally even high-frequency dispersion for a wider, more accurate sweet spot.
A mammoth 15” sub-bass passive radiator on the back affords greater bass output and extension.
The Forte IV enclosure is still made in the USA, by proud craftsmen in Hope, Arkansas. Just like Paul W. Klipsch (PWK) intended. Klipsch only uses book-matched wood veneers for the Heritage series. The veneer leaves are kept in order as they are delicately sliced from the timber and precisely arranged to provide a mirror image at the splice joint — like turning the pages of a book. This gives each speaker a more aesthetically appealing and consistent appearance that is treasured more than any other cut of wood veneer.
Each pair of Forte IV loudspeakers is grain-matched using wood veneer panels that come from the same timber. Every cabinet is carefully matched so that each speaker in the pair is practically indistinguishable from the other. The speakers move seamlessly together through the factory, and emerge as a meticulously crafted set.
At a mere 13" deep, the Forte IV is thinner than any Heritage Series or Reference Premiere floorstanding speaker, yet is still able to deliver incredible, robust acoustics.
