Is the Klymit Static V warm enough for winter camping?

No. Its R-value is 1.3, which suits summer and mild three-season use. For freezing nights you want a pad rated R-4 or higher.

How much does the Klymit Static V weigh and pack down?

It weighs about 0.9 lb and rolls to roughly the size of a 1-liter bottle, so it fits inside most backpacking packs.

Is it long enough for a tall person?

At 50 inches it suits sleepers up to about 5'8". Taller campers should look at the Static V Luxe or a 72-inch pad.

How do you inflate it?

It has a flat valve: open it, blow the pad up with about 10 to 15 breaths, then close the cap. It inflates in under a minute.

Our take on the Klymit Static V

The Klymit Static V is a lightweight inflatable sleeping pad with a body-mapped V-chamber design that cradles sleepers and limits air movement. It measures 50 x 23 inches, is 2.5 inches thick, weighs about 0.9 lb and packs small. Its R-value of 1.3 makes it a three-season pad for mild conditions, not winter camping. At $54.99 at Dick's Sporting Goods as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the low end of its usual selling range, a fair price for a budget backpacking pad.
