Is the Kodak Pixpro worth it at $99?

At $99.00 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it is a cheap way to get a 24x optical zoom and manual controls. If most of your shooting is indoors or in low light, a phone or a larger-sensor camera will do better.

Does it need a memory card?

Yes. Internal storage is only 63 MB, enough for a handful of photos. It takes SD, SDHC and SDXC cards.

Yes, up to 1080p Full HD in AVCHD Lite or Motion JPEG. There is no 4K option.

The lens runs 4.5-108mm, a 24x zoom, with a 27mm wide-angle equivalent at the short end. That covers group shots and distant subjects, but the f/3 maximum aperture is not bright.

Is it good in low light?

Not really. The 1/2.3-inch sensor and ISO ceiling of 3200 mean indoor and evening shots get noisy. It performs best outdoors in daylight.

The current $99.00 at Walmart is at the low end of its recent range across 11 stores. Watch for holiday sales, when compact cameras often drop further.
