Our take on the Ktaxon Two Wheel Bicycle Cargo Trailer

The Ktaxon Two Wheel Bicycle Cargo Trailer is a steel-framed cargo trailer that hitches to a bicycle seat post and carries up to 200 lb on two 16-inch wheels. It is aimed at hauling groceries, gear or small loads without a car. Its 3.4 out of 5 rating from 74 ratings suggests mixed owner satisfaction, so check the hitch and wheel quality before relying on it for heavy daily use.

Pros

200 lb load rating covers most grocery and gear runs
Two 16-inch wheels track better than a single-wheel trailer
Folds down for storage between trips
Lower cost than most brand-name cargo trailers

Cons

Mixed 3.4 out of 5 owner rating
Seat-post hitch design can sway and stress the frame
Steel frame and basic wheels add weight
No brake or suspension, so heavy loads need slow speeds

Folds for storage in a small space

Cons

Hitch loosens or wobbles on rough pavement
Wheels and bearings feel cheap
Assembly instructions are unclear

Questions and answers

Is the Ktaxon trailer worth it for grocery runs?: For light, flat-route errands it does the job at a low price. If you plan to haul 150 lb or more regularly, spend more on a trailer with a better hitch and wheels.
How much weight can it carry?: Ktaxon rates it at 200 lb. Keep the load centered over the axle and stay well under the limit on bumpy roads.
Will it fit my bike?: It attaches to the seat post, so it fits most adult bikes with a standard exposed seat post. Bikes with dropper posts or unusual frame shapes may need an adapter.
What size are the wheels?: It uses two 16-inch wheels. That is smaller than most trailer wheels, so it rolls slower and is more sensitive to potholes.
Does it fold for storage?: Yes, the frame folds down. Check the folded dimensions if you have limited garage or closet space.
When is the best time to buy?: Bike trailers tend to be discounted in late fall and winter, outside the spring and summer riding season.
What do buyers say about the Ktaxon Two Wheel Bicycle Cargo Trailer?: Rated 3.4 out of 5 from 74 ratings.
