Is it worth it for a 1-year-old?

Yes, with supervision. The pieces are mini-sized and rounded, and the set is rated from 1 year. The small cars are a choking risk for children who still mouth toys, so watch the youngest users.

Does it need batteries?

The truck rolls and the ramp works without power. The lights and sounds need batteries, and many listings do not include them, so check the box or buy AA batteries with it.

One green dinosaur transporter truck and four mini dinosaur cars, five pieces total. The truck stores the cars on two decks.

How does it compare with a plain toy truck?

It adds a sliding ramp, lights, sounds and dinosaur-shaped cars for roughly the same money as a basic truck. The trade-off is more small parts to keep track of.

Toy sets like this usually dip around back-to-school and pre-holiday sales. Check the price history before buying; it is a low-cost item, so discounts are small in dollar terms.

Our take on the KWANITHINK Dinosaur Toy Cars with Lights & Sounds

This is a five-piece dinosaur transporter set: a green truck that holds four mini dinosaur cars on two decks, with the top deck sliding out as a ramp. Lights and sounds add to the play, and the rounded, mini-sized pieces are aimed at ages 1 to 4. It is a manual toy with no batteries needed for movement, though the lights and sounds require power. It has 4.5 out of 5 from 252 ratings, so it is well received for the price class.
