Our take on the Latitude Run Genuine Leather Modular Sofa

The Latitude Run Genuine Leather Modular Sofa is an 87-inch-wide, 35-inch-deep sectional-style sofa in coffee-brown leather over a wood frame, with a pillow back. Its modular build lets you rearrange or add pieces, which suits open living rooms and growing households. Leather and a wood frame are the durable choices here; the pillow back favors lounging over upright support. It is a direct-to-consumer piece, so expect to assemble it and to see fewer long-term owner reports than from legacy furniture brands.

Best forOpen-plan living rooms that need a long, low-profile seatHouseholds that rearrange furniture or may add a chaise laterBuyers who want leather without a designer priceRenters and movers who need a sofa that breaks into sections
Pros
  • Genuine leather cover wipes clean and wears in rather than out
  • Modular sections make moving, reconfiguring and stair carries easier
  • 87-inch length seats three to four comfortably
  • Wood frame is sturdier than particleboard at this tier
  • Pillow back gives a soft, sink-in feel
Cons
  • Pillow backs need regular fluffing and lose shape faster than tight backs
  • Coffee leather shows scratches and dye transfer from dark denim
  • 35-inch depth is roomy but eats floor space in small rooms
  • Assembly and section alignment can take time to get right
  • Leather comfort varies with room temperature: cold at first, sticky in heat

Questions and answers

Is a modular leather sofa worth it over a fixed sofa?
If you move, rearrange rooms or expect to add seating later, yes. The sections separate for carrying and let you change the layout. A fixed sofa is usually cheaper and stiffer for the same leather.
How do I keep the leather looking good?
Dust weekly with a dry cloth and wipe spills with a damp one, then condition the leather two to four times a year. Keep it out of direct sun and away from radiators, which dry and crack the hide.
Will the coffee color match my room?
Coffee is a dark, warm brown that reads almost black in low light. It pairs well with warm woods and creams but can look heavy against cool gray floors. Ask for a swatch before ordering.
Does it come assembled?
Modular sofas typically ship in sections and need the legs and connectors fitted on delivery. Check the listing for the exact box count and whether tools are included.
What size room does an 87-inch sofa fit?
Plan on at least 10 feet of wall and about 3 feet of walkway in front. In a room under 12 by 12 feet, measure first: the 35-inch depth plus a coffee table leaves little passing room.
When is the best time to buy?
Furniture discounts cluster around Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday and end-of-season clearances. Watch the price history for a few weeks so you can tell a real markdown from a raised list price.
