Our take on the Latitude Run Outdoor 6.5 in. Thick Deep Cushion Set Patio Chair Cushions

This is a set of deep seat patio chair cushions from Latitude Run, made with 6.5-inch thick padding for outdoor lounge or dining chairs. The extra thickness is the main selling point: it gives firm, high-loft support that thinner 3- to 4-inch cushions don't. Latitude Run is a Wayfair house brand, so the set is usually sold there and priced in the mid range for deep seat cushions.

Best forOwners of deep seat patio or wicker chairsPeople who want firm, high-loft seatingReplacing worn cushions on an existing outdoor setCovered porches and shaded patios

Pros

6.5-inch thickness gives noticeably more support than standard 4-inch cushions
Deep seat shape fits most lounge and wicker patio chairs

Latitude Run replacement covers and sizes are easy to find

Cons

Thick fill holds water longer if left in rain
Cushions are bulky and hard to store off-season
Fabric fades in direct sun over a few seasons
Seat depth and width vary by listing, so measure first

Questions and answers

Is 6.5 inches too thick for a standard patio chair?: It is thick for a dining chair but right for deep seat lounge and wicker chairs. On a low-back dining chair the back cushion may sit too tall.
Will these fit my chair?: Measure seat width, seat depth and back height before ordering. Deep seat sets typically run around 24 to 25 inches wide, and sizes differ between Latitude Run listings.
Can the covers be washed?: Most versions have removable, zippered covers that can be machine washed cold and air dried. Check the specific listing, since some are spot clean only.
How do they hold up in rain?: The foam core absorbs water through seams and dries slowly. Bring them in during storms or use a cover; standing water shortens their life.
When is the best time to buy?: Patio furniture and cushions are discounted most in late summer and early fall clearance. Spring is the priciest season for outdoor seating.
