Our take on the Latitude Run Twin Size Upholstered Daybed with Drawers

This is a twin-size upholstered daybed from Latitude Run with a captain's-style back and two built-in storage drawers underneath. The fabric frame and slat base let it work as a sofa by day and a bed at night, with the drawers taking the place of a dresser in small rooms. It suits guest rooms, kids' rooms and studio apartments where floor space is tight. No current price was available to compare against its recent range.

Best forGuest rooms that double as sitting roomsKids' and teen bedroomsStudio apartments and small bedroomsShoppers who want storage without a separate dresser
Pros
  • Two under-bed drawers add storage in a small footprint
  • Upholstered frame and back make it comfortable to sit on
  • Slats are included, so no separate box spring is needed
  • Twin size fits standard twin mattresses
  • Captain's-back design gives it a sofa look, not just a bed
Cons
  • Upholstered fabric needs spot cleaning and shows stains
  • Drawers need clearance in front, so placement is limited
  • Assembly is typically required and can take a while
  • Twin only, so no larger sizes for couples or growing kids

Questions and answers

Do I need a box spring with this daybed?
No. The slat base is included and supports a standard twin mattress directly. A box spring would add height and is not required.
What mattress thickness works best?
A twin mattress around 8 to 10 inches thick sits well against the back and keeps the seat height comfortable. Very thick mattresses can sit above the back rail.
How much clearance do the drawers need?
Leave enough open floor in front of the bed for the drawers to pull out fully. Placing it against a wall on the drawer side blocks access.
Is it sturdy enough for an adult to sleep on?
It is built as a twin bed with a slat base, so adults can sleep on it. Check the listed weight capacity before buying if two people will sit on it at once.
Is it hard to assemble?
Expect to attach the frame, back and slats with the included hardware. Two people make it easier, and most builds take an hour or more.
When is the best time to buy it?
Furniture prices often dip around major holiday sales and at the start of back-to-school season. Compare across stores and check the price history before buying.
