Do these curtains really block all light?

The listing specifies 100% blackout, and the lined panels block nearly all light when hung with overlap at the center. Small light gaps at the sides are normal unless you use a wrap-around rod.

How many panels do I need for my window?

Each panel is 40 inches wide. For a typical 60 to 72 inch window, two panels give a full, gathered look. For wider windows, use two panels per 40 to 50 inches of rod width.

Are the hooks included?

Yes, hooks are included with the panels. You still need a rod and brackets, and a sturdy rod is recommended because the blackout lining makes the panels heavy.

Can I machine wash them?

Yes, they are machine washable. Use a gentle cycle and low heat or hang to dry, then re-steam the pleats to keep them crisp.

What lengths are available?

They come in 84, 90, 96 and 102 inches. Measure from the rod to the floor or sill and pick the closest length; longer panels can be hemmed.

How do these compare with plain blackout curtains?

The main upgrade is the pinch-pleat header, which hangs more formally than grommet or rod-pocket panels. Light blocking is similar to other lined blackout curtains.
