Is the Tramone daybed worth it?

It is a reasonable pick if you need one piece that seats guests and sleeps them. You pay for the tufted look and slat base rather than storage or a trundle.

Do I need a box spring?

No. The wood frame has slats, so a standard mattress sits directly on them. A low-profile mattress keeps the seat height comfortable.

What mattress size fits?

Match the daybed size: Twin takes a twin mattress, Full takes a full, and Queen takes a queen. Use a mattress around 8 to 10 inches thick so the backrest still reads as a back.

How hard is assembly?

Expect a few hours with two people. The frame is heavy and the slats and tufted panels go on in stages, so set aside an afternoon.

Can it be used as a everyday sofa?

Yes, but the seat is deeper than a standard sofa. Add back cushions if you want more upright seating for long evenings.

Upholstered daybeds usually dip during holiday sales and end-of-season furniture events. Watch the Twin size, which carries the lowest list price.

Our take on the Red Barrel Studio Tramone Modern Luxury Tufted Button Daybed

The Red Barrel Studio Tramone is an upholstered daybed with a tufted, buttoned back and a wooden frame with slats, so it doubles as a sofa by day and a bed by night. It comes in Twin, Full and Queen sizes, which lets it scale from a kids' room to a guest room or studio. Slats mean you can skip a box spring and put a mattress straight on the frame. Pricing moves with size and fabric, so compare the Twin against the Full before you commit.
