Our take on the Lavish Home 2 in. Duck Feather Gusset Mattress Topper

A 2-inch king-size mattress topper filled with 100% duck feather and covered in 100% cotton, built with baffle box construction and a gusset so the fill stays put. It is a medium-firmness down topper meant to soften a hard mattress and add warmth. At $63.74 at Home Depot as of November 6, 2026, it sits at the low end of what a king feather topper costs, and only 2 stores price it new.

Pros
  • Baffle box construction keeps the feather fill from shifting into corners
  • 2-inch gusset adds real loft, not just a thin pad
  • 100% cotton cover breathes better than polyester shells
  • King size at $63.74 is cheap for a feather topper
  • Medium firmness suits most sleepers as a comfort layer
Cons
  • Duck feather fill can poke through the cover and feels quillier than down
  • No certifications or listings, so no third-party assurance on fill or materials
  • Feather toppers flatten with use and need regular fluffing
  • Not for anyone with feather allergies
  • No corner straps or skirt mentioned, so it may slide on smooth mattresses

Questions and answers

Is this topper soft or firm?
It is listed as medium firmness. Expect a soft, sink-in feel that adds cushioning without turning a firm mattress into a plush one.
Will feathers poke through the cover?
Some owners report quills working through the cotton shell. A mattress protector over the topper reduces the problem.
Does it fit a king mattress?
Yes. It measures 78 by 80 inches, which matches a standard king mattress.
Is it good for hot sleepers?
Feather fill traps warmth, so it suits cold sleepers better than hot ones. The cotton cover helps it breathe more than a synthetic shell.
How do I clean it?
Spot clean and air it out; the cotton cover and feather fill are not machine washable. Use a washable protector on top.
When is the price lowest?
It is $63.74 at Home Depot as of November 6, 2026, with only 2 stores pricing it new. Feather toppers often drop around bedding sales events.
