Questions and answers

Is the Lazy Buddy trash can worth it?
If you want a large touchless can at a low price, it is a reasonable pick. At $79.99 at eBay as of November 6, 2026, it costs less than many sensor cans of this size.
How big is the 18.5-gallon can?
It holds 18.5 gallons, roughly twice a standard 9-gallon kitchen can. Check the base dimensions against your space before buying, since large cans need clearance for the lid.
Does it need batteries?
Yes. Motion sensor lids run on batteries, and how long they last depends on how often the lid opens. Keep spare batteries on hand.
Will pets or foot traffic set off the sensor?
Possibly. Motion sensors can trigger on pets or people walking past, so place the can where the sensor does not face a busy path.
What bags fit an 18.5-gallon can?
Use 18 to 20-gallon trash bags, or a slightly larger bag cinched around the rim. Standard 13-gallon kitchen bags will be too small.
When is the price lowest?
The best new price seen is $79.99 at eBay as of November 6, 2026. With only two stores listing it, watch both for changes.
